Howdy, fellow Draconiacs! RazorFox here.

To all of you who guessed that the victim of Ennek‘s rock throwing was Kess, give yourselves a high five!  Will Kess finally come clean to another living soul?  Time will tell.

Those of you looking for a soundtrack for this page can pull up “Talk About The Passion” by R.E.M.

Sorry for the delay on this page.  I was trying to get it done ahead of Katsucon last weekend, but I just couldn’t get it done in time.  I had a good portion of it done, namely the characters and some sketched backgrounds, but time was running out and I didn’t want to half-ass it.  You all deserve nothing less than my ass, whole!

Wait, that sounded horrible.  Forget you read that.  Now.

Anyway, Katsucon was a rockin’ good time, as it always is, and I want to thank the numerous Draconiacs who came by and said hi!  My mid-Atlantic homeys are always awesome.  Thanks for making it a wonderful weekend!

Speaking of regions of the United States, with the exception of Anime Weekend Atlanta in, as its name implies, Atlanta, you’ll notice that I generally only do conventions in the mid-Atlantic region of the United States, namely in cities like Baltimore, Washington, and the Commonwealth of Virginia.  It’s rare that I venture out of my home territory.  Well, this year, I’m going to change that, as I’m proud to announce that, for the first time ever, I will be attending Anime Boston!

Fans have been trying to get me to go to this convention for years–literally years!–but it hasn’t worked out.  The big obstacle to my attending a lot of conventions beyond my home region is the cost involved, and Boston was just too far away.  Well, this year, word got around to a few staffers who decide to invite me as a featured artist, thus giving me a free ticket to ride!  It was too good an offer to pass up, so to Anime Boston, your staffers’ efforts have finally paid off after so many years, and I look forward to doing my first convention in New England since my dalliance with ConnectiCon in 2006, and my first convention ever in Boston.

In fact, I’ve never even BEEN to Boston for any reason.  Never been farther than Hartford.  This is totally unexplored territory for me.  I’ll bring a GPS and a teddy bear.

Anyhow, I’m getting pretty amped about Anime Boston, and I want to see all my New England Draconiacs there!  It’s Memorial Day weekend in the heart of Boston.  In the local vernacular, it’ll be “wicked pissah,” which I assume to mean that it’ll be cool.  See you there!

Before I go, my pal Nate Dogg (not the deceased musician) has started a nifty little blog themed around webcomics, movies, and other bits of pop culture.  He’s embarking on a series of interviews with various comic creators, and I’ve been honored to be among his first interviewees.  Check out my conversation with Nate Dogg, along with the rest of his budding blog, here!

In the meantime, time to get crackin’ on the next page.  What’s on Kess’ mind?  Find out in a week.  Until then, take care, my fellow Draconiacs, and thanks for reading!

=RazorFox.

I’m certain that there are plenty of people here that are thinking that Kess had this one commin’ to her.

Karma’s a bitch, eh? ^__^

Yeah, just ask Gaia’s ghost, THAT is good example of how harsh and cruel life and fate can be. ( T-T)
(Btw, a fitting theme for Gaia’s ghost is Nightcore Darkness.)

Ummm, Danny?
If something is a “Wicked Pissah”, it isn’t good…usually it sucks, a lot.

That, is not Anime Boston, btw.

I never intended for Ennek to be “the cranky one,” but her first spoken line just happened to cast her as such. People liked her little bit there, so I decided to stick with that. I wanted there to be a reason for her uptightness, though, and to show that she’s got a soft side, too. She’s got lots of potential. Really glad you’re liking her! ^__^

She learned…..what did she learn again?

Oh, Kess… poor, POOR Kess… you really need someone to care for you.

Ennek’s lap is a good place to start. ~__^

Yes, Ennek’s lap could lead to lots of care no matter who is there. Heck, I’m pretty sure a Dragon in Ennek’s lap could lead to World of Draconia Peace!

Not only is Ennek smart enough not to be let down by Rula and Naisha’s antics, she is also smart enough not to touch Kess’s shoulder. Good for you! Now, let’s hope she doesn’t have the same reaction if you try to give her a hug, because she really needs one right now.

*Jokingly & reads the blog comment*

Yeah…I’m going to pretend that I didn’t read that. In exchange, I demand more hotness in each comic.

Huh? Didn’t read what? About how I’m going to be at Anime Boston this summer? ^__^

Ennek is growing on me. Good job RazorFox, you have succeeded in making me like another tiger. I believe that puts the total up to about 6 now which means I like an equal number of tigers and dragons now.

What really makes me feel for tigers is that the dragons are downright cruel when it comes to fighting them. The tigers don’t even understand the reasons for warring with them. (idk this comic just makes me feel for the tigers.)

Just exercise caution when attempting to hug Kess. She’s a little jumpy. ^__^;

Got a cool idea for fan art. A German King Tiger heavy tank, crewed by this group of Tigers!!!! It would certainly give them the upper hand over those accursed Dragons. ^_^

Why does that combination make me think of classic Degeneration-X, circa 1998?

She learned…..what did she learn again?

If you recall back to the Khalira storyline, grabbing Kess’ shoulder triggers a violent reaction.

oooooooh…..

theory; Shoulder = sensually sensitive spot = violent reaction to avoid humping them…..hey, stop doubting it! IT IS COMPLETELY POSSIBLE!untilrazordismisses/agreeswithit.

She said something about why she has that reaction, I can’t remember how far she went into it.
Don’t you love when Razor agrees with your theories? It actually happened to me once, though it was before I got this Disqus account.

I heard it’s your birthday! Fijne verjaardag

Aye, heard the same. Have a good one Dan.

A little bird mentioned it was someone’s birthday! Here’s to another year of fine Razorfox art!

Thanks, Silvermoon! ^o^

… I’m sorry, but I’m noticing something in recent pages, and it’s really starting to bug me. The grammer and english of the characters’ text has degraded greatly… What is up with that?

That’s actually done on purpose. I’m looking to develop a particular speech pattern for the Tigers which involves using as few words as possible to get an intelligible point across. That means dropping a lot of particles and personal pronouns. You’ll notice that the Dragons’ speech is much more eloquent, but the Tigers’ is a bit more bare-bones.

i just noticed this, but it looks like ennek isn’t wearing anything below the waist in the second panel. is she?

That 3rd panel, why does she look sad as she powers up the hammer? I’ve got a bad feeling about this move of hers.

That’s because maybe it uses her lifeforce to do a powered move like (the Luminaire blade in final fantasy that uses MP points for power) maybe this uses HP for power

I guess that would make sense, since even though the weapon is extremely powerful it is currently dispersed in multiple forms that have already use a LOT of power in battle.
This made me realize something I read though, “At ragnarok (the future) Jörmungandr will come out of the ocean and poison the sky. Thor will kill Jörmungandr and then walk nine paces before falling dead, having been poisoned by the serpent’s venom”
If this happens to Kimi, I will…… I’m gonna…… I’ll…. Explode!

ok please sign these forms here here and here to have a benefactor in case of spontaneous explosion,
on another hand i honestly don’t believe she is going to die because of this, then again Nekonny may be able to “save” Kimi if it comes to it

Huh, despite Nekonny being the only one with a bruise on his cheek in the last page, everyone suddenly has scuffs and bruises now. Did a lot happen between this page and the last? Also, I thought maybe Kimi would address Muna’s question, but I guess Tina interrupted. ^^; Idk, I don’t mean to sound like I’m complaining but I feel like the continuity of these past couple pages is a little choppy. Still looking forward to see what happens!

I think Kimi should be on the Avengers instead of Thor. Clearly just as powerful, and a lot better looking to boot

Better looking? That depends on your point of view.

This comparison reminds me of a sequence I read in some comics a decade or so ago, which pitted the X-Men vs. the Avengers. Storm took on Thor and lots badly, but who really loses when two of the most powerful being start throwing weather effects around? Captain America took on Wolverine and lost badly; this was one of the first stories that revealed that Cap and “Lucky Jim” had fought side-by-side during World War 2, where the Nazis lost badly to these two super-soldiers.

“Ambush! They were expecting us!”
“There was expecting somebody, but not us. They’re at least a regiment short.”

If ya think bout it, she might show to be even more powerful than Thor, at least if they manage to defeat Jormugand. Since even though Thor is powerful enough to defeat it, legend say he will die from the wounds he receive in the battle.

Heck you know what, why dont we just create a new group of only badass good looking female superheroes.

Thor can spin his hammer so fast he can rip holes in reality and chuck people into suns.

Kimi is having difficulty defeating an army of shadow rabbits.

Kimi’s cool, but comparing her to Marvel!Thor is rather unfair.

A side-note: Jormungandr in the myths was large enough to circle all of Midgard. Despite that, Mythology!Thor was able to catch it with a giant’s fishing rod, and nearly managed to bring it aboard a giant’s rowboat before the giant in question started freaking out. In Ragnorak, Thor killed Jormungandr in battle; we have yet to see whether Kimi will manage to kill it, or whether she’ll fail and only banish it like her predecessors.

(Weee mythology debates)

You do have a very fair point.
I apologize, it seems I got too cocky about my knowledge of the myths simply because I’m Swedish…

Of course I was comparing Kimi with the Thor of myths, not the Marvel character who is simply an adaptation of the original to fit better into the marvel universe.
True, the original Thor may not have gone about things with as much flare as our favorite Marvel asgardian, but he was still a god. And a powerful one at that. He might not have knocked people into the sun or created wormholes simply by spinning his hammer, but he did some pretty amazing stuff.

Oh, yeah, definitely! I’m Canadian, but Iceland is a major part of my heritage; I more or less grew up with those myths! Thor drank a large part of the sea, wrestled with old age and didn’t lose immediately, killed a *lot* of frost giants, and was just generally really, really cool. I think that what they’ve been implying so far is that he isn’t actually real in this AU, and that the myth started up from the hammer itself; otherwise Thor probably would have kicked Jormungandr back to the stone age by now.

Probably would XD

Although we wont know for sure, since the entities in the comic only have slight resemblance to the myths. Mjölnir being some kind of shapeshifting magical weapon instead of the enchanted iron hammer of myths, and Jörmungandr sharing more properties with “the Blob” then with the actual sea serpent of the myth.

While it is a bit confusing, I love this new interpretation of the myths. It just makes it harder to know for sure what is the same and whats not, making it so much more fun. 😀
