Howdy, fellow Draconiacs!  RazorFox here.  Miss me?

It seems Xhianil‘s reputation is beginning to take a hit, but Lady Red clearly has bigger fish to fry.  Who are these “friends” she’s referring to?  Stay tuned…

Those of you looking for a soundtrack for this page can pull up “Going South” by Wolfgang Press.

I should point out that this page marks a little milestone for me.  It was one hundred pages ago, on page 225, that I expanded my role in the comic from simply artist and I took up the writing duties on the comic.  I want to thank you all for your support and your overwhelmingly positive feedback over the past 100 pages.  I’ve had a blast writing the comic, and getting inside the heads of my Dragons and Tigers, and fleshing out the world they live in.  Here’s to many, many more!  Just wait till you see what I’ve got in store!

I also want to thank you all for your patience as I took last week off from the comic to attend my first-ever Anime Boston, where, to use the vernacular, I had a wicked awesome time!  Quite a few of you came out of the woodwork to come and see me, and some new friends were made in the process.  I want to send a big thank you to the Anime Boston staff for having me as a featured artist, to the City of Boston for being as awesome as it is, and to you, my fellow Draconiacs, for making it a wonderful weekend for me, and making my first ever trip to Boston a smashing success!

While I would love to say that I’ll be back next year, it’s too early to tell.  I would love to go back, but Anime Boston is happening on a completely different weekend next year. We’ll see how things work out.  In the meantime, I’m still basking in the afterglow of this year’s event.  Keep those fingers crossed, though.

Anyway, enjoy the new page, and be back here in a week to find out just what sort of ace Lady Red has up her imaginary sleeves.  Take care, my fellow Draconiacs, and thanks for reading!

=RazorFox.

Welcome back. Also, I kind of figured that the Earth dragons would be forced into this battle this time!

Sounds like a few Earth dragons have been drafted, and they shouldn’t avoid Red. As they say- “Desperate times, call for desperate measures.” I wouldn’t put it past Red to slap a collective selective service order. They need help, badly. Fuegana’s injured, and Xhianil needs to re-evaluate her emotions if she wants to remain in Red’s service. I guess we’ll see what ace Red has hidden up her sleeves (umm, scales…? Nevermind.)

I just read your explanation of Eone’s name and pronunciation. I was reading it as “ee-own”, but “ee-oh-nay” sounds much more feminine. If you ever get the time to put together a cast page I would humbly request you include a pronunciation of their names.

Looks like Red’s gonna try pullin’ rank on Gaia and a few of her cohorts!

On Gaia? Or do you mean Eone? Only one of those two is alive. ^__^;;

WOOPS! I meant Eone! Haaaaah, sorry, my brain was sticking to the word “earth” XDD But yeah, I meant Eone ^^;; >.>;; this is what I get for commenting when I’m kinda loopy from tiredness <<;;

S’okay. Eone’s name actually arose from a shorthand I had for her. Prior to her gaining a name, she was simply identified in my notes as “E-1,” short for “Earth (Dragon) #1.” When it came time to give her a name, I looked at my little scribble of “E-1,” expanded it in my mind to its pronunciation–“E One”–merged the two words together, and tweaked the final pronunciation. Eone is properly pronounced as “ee-OH-nay,” but the actual words are “E One.”

The more you know… ^__^

Given the proper application of their powers, I’m relatively certain that the earth dragons could make some potentially devastating soldiers. Though I wouldn’t quite consider any of them to be front line caliber yet. I’m certain that they’ll engineer some form of plan to go after the tigers.

Everyone’s gotta start somewhere.

Have you played Guild Wars 2, Razor? Crabby’s comment about the Earth Dragons makes me think about the in-game The Iron Legion(engineers, artilerist, marksmen). Does that make the fire dragons The Blood Legion(front-line soldiers, berserkers, first-line of defense, etc)? And if So, who would be like The Ash Legion(intel gatheres, spies, scouts, saboteurs)?

And interesting way to look at it. While I was indeed alluding to the possibility of hopefully seeing some sort of siege equipment in the not too distant future…I wasn’t really looking to parallel GW2. Fun as the game may be.

But since you brought it up…From what we know about them I would have to say that the Foxes are the closest to the Ash Legion that we’re ever going to get here. But if you insist on having a dragon example…I would have to go with light dragons. We’ve seen what Briella is capable of. She can become invisible, dim the lighting around her, create clones for distraction ect. Plus we know that they can also scan and wipe specific memories.

Well, someone’s gonna die. Sadness…

Someone’s going to die? Do they have to? In the 100 pages I’ve written for the comic, my body count has been zero thus far, not counting deaths that actually happened in previous chapters. In fact, I had considered killing someone off during the Briella pursuit in the Calera, but it just didn’t happen in the story. There was no instance that arose where I felt anyone had to die. But if and when I do kill a character, it’ll mean something. ~__^

Like what?

Huh? I don’t understand your question. “Like what?” in regards to what?

I just read your explanation of Eone’s name and pronunciation. I was reading it as “ee-own”, but “ee-oh-nay” sounds much more feminine. If you ever get the time to put together a cast page I would humbly request you include a pronunciation of their names.

Rula and Riah seem out of place, seeing as their left eyes are covered. There’s the creepy glowing eye thing, and then we have two that have covered eyes. Still an amazing page, though. (If I looked at it from a dragon’s point of view, it would have creeped me out. Now it just looks like amazing art I can never accomplish.. ;( ) Awesome as always!

I at first thought the “friends” were the earth dragons, but I don’t see why they would refuse. They now have rights, so why not show why they should keep them? I now assume that the “friends” are the lightning dragons. They want their rights, and it may or may not be granted as reward for their services, which is why they may refuse.

But this is, still, an assumption. ¯_(ツ)_/¯ (This is a shrug emoji. Use it when the situation is right.)

Thanks for the compliments on the page, especially on the artwork. I particularly love how the Tiger panel came together, including the instances of hidden eyes. And as for your own art skills, if you’ve started drawing, don’t stop. What you see here is 18 years of ongoing practice. If I could do this, so can you.

Love the shrug emoji, btw. ^__^

Hi Razor haven’t commented in a while, but just want to say nice nice my friends the comics still as great as ever.

Glad to have you back! ^__^

🙂 Hey have you ever thought about getting a kick starter tohave this comic turned into a show?

A show? Wow, I’d LOVE that. Maybe one day, when I’m making Penny Arcade money. ^__^;

So would we (speak for all fans here). I just asked cause a know a few comics I’ve read are doing that, and as far as the kick starter goes their fans donate money to help things started. Not actually sure how everyone is getting the studio, and stuff.

Anyway the point of my all my blabbering is that I thought it would cool, and wanted to see if ya had heard about it or not.

head to your local uni, leave a notice for any students in animation and basic programming and see what you get. I’m sure other readers would respond if you needed voice roles.

This is just and idea to give you a place to start should you one day decide to go through with it.

shows require … a lot of work, a lot of money, and a lot of viewers to make it pay off.

kickstarter can help with the money part sure, but the other things might be hard to realize. Most kickstarters are about printing the comics to a book format.
Then you need to publish he show and I have no idea how easy that is.
Don’t forget about voiceactors!
To top it off, for what target audience is the show?

Yes … but that isn’t implying that it will be sucessful as a show. You have to convince tvchannels that your thing is worth airing, for each single channel and for each single country it’s supposed to air in.
The fans reading this comic come from around the world…

On the other hand he could air it online, that would be a lot easier, less risky and cheaper.
I have never aired a show so I don’t know for sure ofcourse. It could work, but it would ask a lot of effort from RazorFox in any case.

Scrap that note.
You don’t debate with people to win, (unless you’re a politician) you debate (or I prefer the term: discuss or with honorable mention of the feature we are using right here: disqus) in order to exchange knowledge. Either you learnt something or you taught something.

(If everyone tought like that they would stop talking :s)

I know a bit about animation, and that’s it really.

I’m starting to get worried about Lumina, Kilani… heck, EVERYONE. (But mostly Lumina) What will fate hold in store for them, how will Kilani and Lumina reunite, why haven’t we’ve seen Shaleigh lately, when will fans make more fan art and fiction of this webcomic, where will all these events lead, and who will decide whether the tribes overcome one another, make peace with one another or both die out a horrifying and disturbing demise??? I speak for every Draconiac and I hope we will all find out soon! (€>_<)m
