*Flies away* It pay’s to be a half breed experiment somethimes.

Okay I MIGHT be a horrible person and I shouldn’t say anything, but I just HAVE to give a small summary of my reactions when I start reading a new comic. 😛

So I saw your upload on Furaffinity and jumped right in since I just LOVE Jasmine’s design and character from her ask blog, but I can’t get past the fact that I always miss a proper storyline whenever I see ummm… “fun” images and I also tend to go overboard when I hear that someone is doing a story about a character I like… mostly because I’m always expecting “fun” stuff.

Now, since I have a bit of a love-hate(or rather it drives me crazy) relationship with “ecchi” stuff and although I really love UberQuest I know quite well not to expect any actual “fun” in the comic itself I decided to try and control my expectations for my own mental health.

I failed at this horribly at around page 6. -_-

At the start I said “Okay, so it’s clean. Good. Some clean comedy – slice of life stuff about Jasmine’s unknown background without too much gutter. Cool. No need for complications. Good.” :3

At the “bump” scene I went into “Okay-okay, that was an obvious joke. It was funny, I’m cool.” 😐

But after this quick “escalation” I just gave up, buried my face into my hands and said “WHY did I ever crawl out of U18’s imageboards if the slightest shift pulls my mind back into the gutter?!?!” DX

So yeah I’ll be REALLY eager to see if I’ll go insane or not in the next few weeks, but I can only say to keep up the awesome work. 🙂

This is one reason I was afraid to make a comic starring Jasmine in the first place. Cause the most she’s been known for is a porn object. which ..funnily enough.. that was my original intention for her.. to just be used however anyone wanted.. but I dunno.. she grew on me.. and I wanted to do a bit more with her. But will it be worth it? Will it be good? Will people like it? Who knows.. I guess only time will tell if I continue this comic or just make her back into a porn object as she once was..

Basically my point exactly in a much more digestible description.

It was obvious that with her current background her own comic would be connected to mature content as well, but I’m pretty sure this was mainly because there aren’t any CLEAR statements that say “This is a clean comic with occasional boobshots – that’ll drive you crazy -.”

Asking if it’ll work or not, if people’ll get turned off by the lack of porn or not because they expect it from Jasmine are I’d say not the right questions. Any character can be “saved” from getting boxed in with the right story that doesn’t conflict with its established character traits. One just needs to figure out how to make it work and it’ll be fine.
As I said although I AM one to expect mature content from her I’m still interested to see some proper character development and backstory.

One way to do it is like how a some semi-mature comics do is to have the main comic clean with as many innuendos as they want and have a separate place where they put up “back room” or “in between” stories for those that have an itch to see something more “interesting”.
This could be the same as it is with UberQuest’s or Jasmine’s blog just with actual stories to tie some things together and maybe show that the character is not just a porn object… Plus as I said that’s what I’m always missing in those two. 🙂

Ugh, once again, just as I feared. They’re planning on raping her. I hate those kind of peoples. They’re bunch of scumbags, including Baxter and Jeff.

If I put aside my horrible habbit of accepting things like this in 18+ materials I can agree with you, but I do have to ask if that is their actual intent since they DO talk about a “job” like if they were doing this on a regular basis for other reasons then just to have their way with a kidnapped girl.

While I don’t have anything to do with this comic’s production, Xivk is the writer. I can tell you one thing. Nobody working on Skidd’s comics would do a subject like rape without using careful, thoughtful consideration and upmost tact. Rape isn’t something you throw in it’s rawest form unless you are just going for mere shock-value. It’s best only very mildly hinted at if it is indeed used at all.

Kidnapping is awful, but not every hostage situation is sexual.
