Well well well. If Sombrana plays her hand right she might end up with the leadership of *two* of the five Dragon species backing her up in her little coup. Not to mention a possible way into the Imperial City besides “flying in and getting spotted from the other side of the moon”.

On the other hand, Eone will naturally be reluctant about direct confrontation with the Imperial Guard no matter how much she dislikes Red, and Saph might even spill the beans to her idol.

… Sombrana is totally going to blow it, isn’t she.

Just two? Including herself, Sombrana’s got Light, Fire, Water, Lightning, and Earth all represented here. If she can get them all on the same page, she might have a worthwhile coalition!

I specifically meant Dragon species as political factions (which I assume are more or less cohesive).

So far Sombrana has the Lighting Dragons on her side, based on former allegiances and shared interests in seeing Oscura fall.

Based on Briella’s comments, if Light Dragons had to choose an allegiance, they might be split between Oscura and Sombrana.

Fire Dragons will likely side with Oscura against Sombrana, especially the Fire Guard led by Red.

Water Dragons are so far an unknown quantity. While Blue leveraged her friendship with Elektra for protection, I’m unsure how much political leverage she holds or who she’d side with in case of open conflict.

Finally to our present situation : Eone knows Oscura harbors a negative bias against Earth Dragons, and she had to strong-arm her into releasing their population quotas. She could see Sombrana as a good opportunity to ensure Oscura doesn’t get a chance to backpedal, without getting her own hands dirty. Of course Saph would likely be a liability in that plan.

Long story short, if Sombrana manages to convince Eone and the Earth Dragons to back her little coup ? By my calculations that would be half of the Dragon population potentially siding with her against Oscura.

Elektra (Thinking, Oh goddamnit, the xenophobe warmonger here to make thing worst)

But seriously if Sombrana think she can force dragons, who taken a vow of non-violence into this mad scheme, she’s crazy.

And to be fair Roxxi, the priestess got her revenge, in her own way.

Building The Bonds of Heaven and Earth

Initial Introductions and Inciting Intent

Roxxi, the rock solid skipper of the Earth Dragon trio, excuses their earlier error. Apparently, announcements about “no trespassing’ were neglected. A bit of smoldering sarcasm it seems. Accompanying Roxxi are the capable couplet Eone and Saph. The three are contracted to reconstruct the portion of the city shattered by the volatile volcano’s eruption. And as Roxxi reveals, it was “Lady” Eone that got them the job. Appealing to the ever eminent Oscura Eone evaluated enough to secure the stint and the abolish the stifling seal on their beautiful and benevolent birthing rights. Also the quintessential quota that quashed them was discarded. What’s more the lovely Lady Red lavished upon them a covert calling. Although both were belatedly bounced from the palace shortly thereafter along with an unwitting worker. The worker was a pitiless priestess who was not pardoned. This abhorrent act was enough to properly put off someone. And with that another enters the exchange. Sensing some simmering similar sentiments, Lady Sombrana steps in with a prime proposition.

Sombrana senses opportunity and isn’t letting it evaporate. What’s her offer? What’s her advance? If it’s anything involving her Majesty then it cannot be magnanimous by matter.

With Earth now entered, and Lightning, secretly sizzling, Sombrana’s set to strike. Will this rattle the regency and return the glory she craves or is all going to crash and collapse?

Do Dragons age and die of natural causes? Cause the Queen having the authority to restrict birthing rights sounds pretty heinous and borderline genocidal. But yayyyy, Earth ladies get to make eggs again!
