If that is THE Mabel, the elderly outcast then it’s settled that the timeline has shifted backwards. I wonder if Kiriad was here for this moment and she’s having serious deja-vu.
Sure looks like Mabel and even answers to the name. And as for Princess Kiriad, she might know what road she’s on and where it leads.

Oooo the plot thickens, and I’m trying to figure out who this new dragoness could be related to! I have a couple in mind.

Her Supreme Majesty does have a certain elegance to her, doesn’t she?
I’m a little surprised I don’t see any zhrite in the new dragon’s bindings. Maybe as a light dragon they don’t feel the need to suppress her magic, or they’re just keeping warriors with weapons around her closely enough that it does the job. But it still feels like if tigers were used to capturing dragons for their queen to ritually boost her own body count (which seems to be where this is going), they’d have worked out dangling some zhrite pendants from the ropes or something so more dangerous dragon types would be securely managed.
With that said – I kinda like Shiraz’ crouching posture in the second panel. Can almost hear her going “ooooooh” even before the panel where she actually speaks. And wow, Scyde has not been WITHOUT a smile during this entire past-flashback – she really does seem to draw pleasure from seeing people above her happy… pity that happiness represents such danger for everyone else, given the Queen’s bloodthirsty tendencies. I get the feeling the Queen wishes she was personally a big cat and able to do more violence herself, and this showy kill-gifting is her way of living out that fantasy. Pity she and Scyde can’t just swap.
The panels were originally going to run in a different order but I couldn’t get the visual flow to my liking, so I had to move some stuff around and do some minor rewrites to the script to accommodate it. Long story short, panels 2 and 3 got swapped and panel 4 didn’t originally exist. With that in mind, I’d already drawn the dais scene and I was actually really happy with how Shiraz’s crouching pose came out, so much so that I didn’t want to toss it and so it was left unmodified. She went from speaking in that shot to simply mouthing a silent “oooooh!” ^__^

I imagine Kiriad to be experiencing so many mixed emotions right now, especially since it bringing back memory from her days as the dragon queens pet.
I’m curious to see what happens next.
